On the eastern end of an island there is an ancient town of Korcula, surrounded by medieval walls. It is a hometown of Marco Polo, world traveler... it is an attractive destination for day trips, and for long term holidays. On the western end ther are towns of Blato and Vela Luka, towns with rich culture and history, and developed tourist activities and accommodation units. Private accomodation is especially developed, across many beautiful bays in the area.

Peninsula Peljesac is the second largest croatian peninsula, just 50km from Dubrovnik. Bay of Mali Ston on the eastern end offers rich tradition in shell farming and gastronomy. Ancient town of Ston is unique with its city walls, a world attraction, while other inladn and seaside villages offer specific natural beauties and loads of activities during the season.
